There have been multiple times in my life (when my skin is going through an oily/summer skin phase a.k.a. when I despise my skin most) where I’ve been on the look out for a moisturizer that is light and disappears almost as soon as I massage it onto my skin. I’m almost always unsuccessful in my search, and end up with something that still leaves my skin feeling greasy or shiny. This lotion, however, does exactly as it promises. It’s lightweight, absorbs easily, and dries matte.
Packed with antioxidants and the awesome, replenishing power of Green Tea, Innisfree has created a perfect moisture-balancing lotion to offer your skin hydration while combating oil. My T-zone can’t fight me when I’m using this moisturizer, and she can put up QUITE the fight. With 87% Green Tea Extract in the product, you know you’re getting a good burst of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties; it’s not just “in the name.” It helps to soothe irritation and prevent any long term skin damage.
Feel and consistency: This lotion is extremely lightweight, mildly watery and thin. It almost feels more like the consistency of a serum. It spreads very easily and a little goes a long way. You have to be careful when applying because the lotion comes in a screw cap bottle. I often pour out more than I need. I generally rub the excess into my neck and décolletage.
Scent: It has a nice minty smell to it – a little like tea tree oil. It’s refreshing and light and not too strong for my taste.
When/how to use: I use this after cleansing and toning in the morning. I tap a little out onto the back of hand and use my fingertips to gently massage it into my face. At nighttime, I even mix it when a heavier moisturizer for more intense hydration.
Results: I really like this moisturizer for when my skin is extra oily / if it’s summertime / or I know it’s going to be a hot day. This is my go-to moisturizer if I know I’m going to be working out, sweating, or if I’m going to be doing any outdoorsy activities. I love the refreshing texture of it and how I can swipe my hand across my face after I put it on and it feels like nothing is there. I wouldn’t use this in the winter time (unless paired with another lotion), or if I’m on any medications where my skin is intensely dried out (like Retin-a). But, if you have combination skin or oily skin, this is a great addition to your skincare regime.
